Position Details:

• Location: Ellenboro, NC

• Hours: 30–40 hours/week.

• Pay: $15-30 an hour, based on relevant experience. Pay raise assessed after 90 days. 

• Schedule: Permanent position, hours may be given as 6-10 hour long shifts 3-5 days a week.  We’re flexible and happy to work around class schedules or other commitments.
   

What You'll Do:

• Work with precision woodworking tools to build modular benchwork table kits

• Handle and cut full sheets of plywood 

• Follow detailed build instructions and maintain a clean, organized workspace

• Lay cork and track for model railroad layouts

• Wire track and switch machines, includes soldering work

• Occasionally travel to client locations (usually 1–2 weeks at a time, sometimes several times per year, travel covered and advance notice given)

Requirements & What We’re Looking For:

• Must be 18+

• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Must have prior woodshop experience and know your way around tools and safety protocols

• Comfortable lifting and handling full sheets of plywood (up to 88 lbs) repeatedly and safely

• Solid work ethic and strong attention to detail

• Able to follow custom plans, apply basic geometry and spatial reasoning

• Independent thinker

• Works well solo but knows when to ask questions

• Quick to learn and open to new techniques, tools, and build styles

• Comfortable working around sawdust, shop noise, and a busy team

• Comfortable in an openly LGBTQIA+ workplace

• Must respect our neurodiverse crew and leave politics/religion at the door

• Note: Our shop is a tobacco-free workplace
   

🛠️ Bonus

• Familiarity with model trains, scale modeling, or train layout construction

• Experience with wiring, soldering, or basic electronics

• Any YouTube filming or editing experience
